and this is where i explain the rules of my writing on the internet.

1. this journal will be friends-locked, every entry after this, because of first publication rights.

2. if i don't already know you, i probably won't add you.

3. the actual entries will be lj-cut, typically with my word count and a brief entry at the beginning. i do this to spare you endless scrolling on your friends-list.

4. comment if you want to be added. if i don't reply within a week, your email got lost in my gmail -- feel free to re-comment.

and now...
the name of the "game" is scriptfrenzy. this project, of course, is a spin-off of nano and therefore it's a writing challenge. this time the challenge is to create a screenplay or stageplay of 20,000 words.

i have absolutely no idea how to write a stageplay, but i'm sure as heck going to give it a wing this year. i have an idea, which is good because i need one, but i'll save that for another post. and my wife gave me a title -- "starstruck." i'm not entirely sure if posting this is going to work. the formatting is that of a stageplay and obviously needs indents and margins and centering. i may write in plain text and format it later, but i'm not sure.

i'm also not sure that i'm going to be comfortable posting something in a different medium my first time around. nobody but my sister and celeste have seen my first novel because quite frankly, it was atrocious. (lovely aim aside.) so, everyone is welcome to friend this journal and join my madness, but we'll see how everything goes.
